Mh4u Hbg Affinity Or Dmg
Piercing shot builds work well in groups, if you want to use it in solo play make sure you use one of the builds with minds eye/ballistics in it so you can do good damage in the monster's face too! Time marks which show all the equipment/jewels for the different sets.

Links and excerpts of useful information on the 4th gen Monster Hunter games: 4U, Gen & GU.
- Affinity, also known as Critical Chance, in Monster Hunter World (MHW) is a weapon's chance to deal a bonus or a penalty to Damage on attacks. Some Weapons have innate Affinity, but it can also be increased with Skills and Equipment.
- A positive affinity means attacks have that percentage chance to use 125% attack power, while a negative affinity is the chance to use 75% attack power. Some monsters can cause a status condition which lowers affinity temporarily.
- What is Affinity. The way Affinity works is this: if you’re weapon has an Affinity rating of +10% that means ten per cent of the time your weapon is going to deal more damage. Similarly, if a weapon has a -10% Affinity rating, it means that ten per cent of the time it will deal less damage. There are obvious payoffs for choosing one or the other.

Dobre films. When you adept evade, you can change your orientation during the dodge. Just hold the direction you want to dodge to as you hit b, then after hitting b hold the direction on the circlepad you want to face at the end of the dodge. If you're adepting into siege mode, this will save you precious seconds.
krallendertotenGo straight for the Kushala gun (Daora's Delphinidae). It's the best general use Pierce siege gun in the game and generally considered the best gun in the game period. Rathalos armor is completely fine; you'll want to just get the High rank version and G rank versions when they become available to you. After that you'll want the Ahtlal-Ka armor, and then a mixed set tailored to your specific talismans.
Consider using the Meteor Bazooka as an in-between weapon to help you get to the Kushala one; it needs recoil down to use the pierce 2 siege properly but it's pretty easy to gem. Alternatively, the Hidden Gambit is a bit stronger but it's harder to get
Little tip: the guns I listed here have Slicing shots as internal ammo; use them to quickly fill your Brave meter by brave-reloading them and using them until it fills. Then switch to siege spam.
KetheresHidden Gambit has recoil of Some. This allows it to use all levels of pierce with minimal delay ('Average' would be enough for pierce 1, pierce 2 and 3 require 'Some')
asstalosOther HBGs you will look for in end-game are the Zinogre HBG (siege Para 2, 2 slots) and the Diablos HBG (requires RD+1 to enable sieging P1s and P2s, and has N2 seige as well). Could consider building these in the lead-up to end-game.
StarboardHunterFor HBG, you have your choice of two main guns, with a third situational one. Daora's Ceti from Kushala Daora, and the Orcus Quarcus from Hyper Zinorge. Both these guns seige Pierce one at its lowest recoil, and come with slicing internals to easily fill your brave gauge. Orcus has 10 less raw than Daora, but makes up for it with an extra slot if your build needs it. Plus it looks way cooler (which is worth the 10 raw by itself). The situational gun is the Diablastazooka, which is Diablos' gun. You use it for monsters with higher HP pools or on multi monster quests, since with recoil +1 it can siege Pierce 1 and 2. Other guns are usable, but those are the most common three.

Skill choices are pretty easy. You want Pierce up for the damage boost, Critical Eye +2/3 and either Weakness Exploit or Repeat Offender to push your affinity up, and Critical Boost to make that extra affinity even better. Shot Booster is a great skill to use, since it keeps you in crit distance longer and means you have to reposition less, but if you have to drop a skill, its the first one on the chopping block. As mentioned, Diablos needs Recoil +1 to function at its best.
Personal Rant Incoming
I don't like Neset Armor as a HBG. Yes, it's a fantastic set of armor. But without an amazing charm, it's less useful. I have a set using a Tenderizer +5 000, and I can get CE +2, WE, CB, Pierce up, and shot booster. Using Neset, I would need something absurd like a Pierce up +4 Expert +7 000 to do that. Yes, the extra defense is nice, but the requirement to get it can seem a bit excessive.

Anyways. Hope this helps, and it's always nice to see another Bowgunner out and about!

unknown, different threadThe Gore HBG will serve you well for a while. It's ability to siege pierce 2 and normal 2 is something a lot of bowguns can't do.

Charge Blade
busy_killerIn addition to the ones that have already been suggested I'll point out some honorable mentions:
- Fatalis Charger: 340 raw, 20 Dragon OOO and reaches purple with Handicraft +1. Good, well rounded weapon.
- Authority Teleblade: 300 raw, 25% Affinity OOO and long natural purple Sharpness. Perfect for a Crit Boost build. Grimclaw Biter is also a good alternative if you're looking to charge HA faster.
- Rustrazor Slasher: 330 raw, 5% Affinity. Super long white. Very flexible weapon, charges HA faster and fits in many builds as you don't need to use Handicraft or Razor Sharp as long as you're ok with fighting in white sharpness.
- Friede/Désastre because it looks amazing. Fatalis Charger is superior though.
- And as a final mention, some good elemental weapons if you are into that: Dear Lutemineva, Magnastar Tobah, Squaliarmada.
